Random Sports Update

So, most of my weekly post will involve some type of sports update. This week, there is a lot to talk about. As everyone should know, the NFL's Superbowl is only a week away. It should be a tremendous rematch between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots. It is expected to break the record for most viewers of any sporting event all time. In the NBA...well, honestly I don't think anyone cares. Prince Fielder signed a new contract to now play baseball for the Detroit Tigers. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that over the next 9 years, Prince will average $200,000 per game, a truly insane amount for a 3 hour game. Is he really that good? I guess we will find out over the next decade. Professionals from BETvega are currently predicting the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies to meet in this years World Series. Tiger Woods had a solid performance at the Abu Dhabi tournament this weekend finishing tied for third. It looks like he is finally getting back into his swing and ready to compete to be the worlds best once again. In soccer, the U.S. Women's team has punched their ticket to the Olympics with a 3-0 victory over Costa Rica. And what a surprise...Barcelona defeated Real Madrid once again. And for anyone who has not been keeping up with current news, Penn State's legendary football coach Joe Paterno passed away at the age of 85. Joe could not survive the fight of cancer any longer and will be remembered for his love, dedication, and determination to win football games for the Nittany Lions.
